Lego Ducati Panigale V4 R incoming

Soon you’ll be able to build your very own Ducati Panigale V4 R at home thanks to Lego.

The blockmakers are teaming up with Ducati to offer the first official Bologna-based block kit featuring the company’s current superbike. It’s part of a new licensing deal that hopefully will see other models from Ducati follow.

It seems that the designers have managed to add quite a bit of detail to the Panigale V4 R kit, such as an accurate recreation of the bike’s TFT digital instrument cluster and a functioning two-speed gearbox that also turns with the engine. The suspension moves in a similar fashion to the full-size bike and other elements such as the exhaust, brake discs and steering are faithful to the superbike.

Lego’s Senior Designer, Aurélien Rouffiange, said: “It was essential for me to include as many details and features as I could, to capture all the curves and the unique design of the red icon, to create for the first time a functioning gearbox and steering as well as a V4 cylinder engine that spins. To me, riding is all about the sensation you feel in connection with the road on your motorcycle. I hope that building the LEGO TECHNIC Panigale V4 R model brings you the same excitement. Not only a play experience but also a way to learn about mechanics, power and technology. The beginning of a long journey with a lot of fun and passion.”

The entire kit is made up of 646 pieces and comes in the company’s signature red colour scheme. When completed, the bike will stand 16cm in height and at 32cm in length will make for a great display piece at home or on your office desk. The kit even comes with a paddock stand just like the real thing. Lego says that the kit will be available to purchase from 1 June 2020 at a price of around €59.99. You will find it in Lego brand retail stores, online and on Ducati’s online store.
