From July 2018 the Ducati SuperSport will be available to in a striking new Titanium Grey colour scheme. Its a little reminiscent of the beautiful Senna colour scheme that appeared on the 916 several years ago. The red wheels add a dash of colour and tie in nicely with the trellis frame upper chassis that’s painted in the same colour.
Owners will be able to load up the SuperSport with touring kit so they can make the most out of this bike’s dual personalities. Hard panniers provide reasonable amounts of space for longer touring and include plastic inserts that are colour-matched to the rest of the bodywork. The front screen is adjustable to improve protection from the wind If you prefer to stick to sportier riding, then owners can spec up the SuperSport with rear seat cover and louder exhausts.
The higher grade SuperSport S is still available in the Ducati Red as well as the Star White Silk with red wheels and frame. This model gets uprated Öhlins suspension, Ducati’s quickshifter for clutchless changes up and down the gearbox. Riders can choose from three different modes: Sport, Touring and Urban, which tweaks the throttle sensitivity enough to alter the bike’s characteristics. Also helpful is the fact that the SuperSport comes with a 16-litre fuel tank.
Performance-wise, the 937cc Testatretta twin remains unchanged, delivering 113hp with a linear torque curve being one of its characteristics. Ducati equips it with its Safety Pack that features Bosch ABS and a traction control system. As a bike to cover multiple bases, the Ducati SuperSport delivers enough performance without sacrificing the versatility and comfort of a sports tourer. The fact that it has some of the longest maintenance intervals in the current Ducati range is a bonus.
