harley’s new contenders

Harley-Davidson are launching into 2012 with two brand new and very cool models – the Softail Slim & the Seventy-Two. The former may be a new model but it just oozes a classic bobber style that simply looks great, especially with that chunky front end. But to balance out its retro-ness, the boys in Milwaukee has squeezed in their latest 103 inch engine which is a peach. I recently drove a Heritage Softail with it and it felt great, lots of torque and surprisingly smooth.

The second half of their new model line up is filled by the new Sportster Seventy-Two. Using the 1200 Sportster engine, it is a throwback to a past era (much like the Forty-Eight) and will give many riders of a certain vintage a great trip down memory lane. Its mini-ape handlebars and chrome laced wheels shod with white wall tyres give it a great look, particularly in its ‘Big Red Flake’ paint scheme. Both models are now available and are in dealers, for more info you can click here
