Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle marks the end of Plus Six production

Only 30 examples of the Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle will be made, marking the end of the model.

Morgan, makers of everybody’s favourite Ash-based sports cars, has announced it is ending production of the Plus Six. An all-new flagship model is due to be revealed in 2025.

Now, if you’re sitting there thinking, “Hang on, didn’t they just release that?” you’re not wrong. The Plus Six began production in 2019, taking over the reins from the Plus Eight model, which started life all the way back in 1968. The Plus Six marked the departure of V8 power and ushered in the new BMW-sourced turbocharged straight six, with new nomenclature to match.

History lesson over, and Morgan is celebrating the end of the Plus Six with a special edition named the Plus Six Pinnacle. Limited to just 30 examples, the Plus Six Pinnacle showcases Morgan’s bespoke abilities by featuring several of the most exclusive options requested by customers during its production run.

More luxurious options for Plus Six Pinnacle

Exterior colours have endless paint-to-sample options, and Morgan has also teamed up with Bridge of Weir to create a couple of new leather options for the interior. Three colours are available: Fawn, which is beige; Riviera, which predictably is blue; and the final one, Explore, which is more commonly known as brown. Each will be complemented by a sheepskin carpet, and all 30 examples will feature a teak wood centre console inspired by the Midsummer project.

On the exterior, each example gets a Le Mans-style flip-up fuel filler cap and a satin silver finish to the wheels. Power output remains unchanged at 340hp from the 3.0 turbo six, the quickest of the current model line-up. The Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle Production has a starting price of £96,995 (€115,400), with room to increase that through the bespoke programme.

What will replace the Plus Six?

Morgan is remaining tight-lipped on the replacement for the Plus Six replacement, but we do know it will sit atop the line-up as the new halo car. There are rumours that the styling may move away from the company’s traditional ‘wing silhouette’ look into a more modern appearance and possibly more upmarket following the response to the Midsummer. The company has stated that the bespoke options available to customers will remain and could expand further. So if you’ve always dreamed of open-top motoring in a Morgan and have a hankering for “the fast one”, best pick up the phone before all 30 have gone.

Did you know that Morgan Motor Cars has been in existence for more than a century? In 2019 it celebrated 110 years in business by creating a number of special edition 110 Anniversary models.
