Feature: Mini GP
As modern Mini’s go, you’ll struggle to find one rarer than the GP. Built as the swan song for the ‘new’ generation of Mini, its light weight stripped out interior added to the almost race prepped feel. Only 2,000 cars were produced and all were hand finished in Italy by style house Bertone. The GP is powered by a supercharged John Cooper Works engine with an output of 218 bhp. In order to give the car further performance the rear seats were removed along with a reduction in the amount of sound deadening materials, even the rear wiper was removed. In total, almost 40 kgs were removed compared to the standard Cooper S. In addition to these, the GP also sported specially designed wheels, carbon fibre rear wing and red door mirrors. Every GP was individually numbered along the roof and also with a plaque on the dashboard.
