Renault Captur details released
Renault will be joining the busy compact SUV segment in July when its new Captur model hits the road. The all-new model offers buyers a great deal of practicality blended with the latest Renault style which is noticeably influenced by the new Clio. The Captur will boast one of the biggest boots in the class at 377 litre, which can be further expanded to 455 litres thanks to a dual height floor. The clever boot floor in the Captur is also rubber-coated on one side meaning that it can be flipped over when you need to throw in some muddy training gear.
Powering the Renault Captur are two turbo-charged engines; the TCe 90 and dCi 90 allowing buyers the choice of petrol or diesel engines respectively. Further to this, buyers will also be able to choose between two trim levels – Life and Intense. The well-equipped Life trim offers 16” alloy wheels, 60/40 split and sliding rear seat bench, body coloured bumpers, cruise control, ABS with Emergency Brake Assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), front and rear electric windows, HSA (Hill Start Assist), speed limiter, Bluetooth® connectivity, trip computer, hands-free key card, automatic climate control and leather steering wheel.
Moving up to the Intense trim level takes things up a notch in the comfort and style stakes, with 17” alloy wheels, front fog lights with cornering function, chromed design features and removable upholstery. The higher-specced Renault Captur in Intense trim brings in the world of personalisation as well as the zipped seat covers which can be simply wiped or washed. They can also be replaced to freshen up the interior come resale time. Its personalisation comes in the form of a chrome Colour Pack (combining both Interior Touch and Exterior Gloss) covering the headlight surrounds and tailgate strip, plus centre console, air vent and gearlever gaiter surrounds among others. Intense features MediaNav as standard, the integrated multimedia tablet with seven-inch touchscreen, including Navteq Nav ‘n’ Go satellite navigation, R-Plug & Radio+, Bluetooth, USB and handsfree technology. It also has cornering lights and a leather steering wheel (with gloss insert) and gearknob.
50to70 will be testing the new Renault Captur as soon as it arrives in mid-July.
