The new Nissan Note was developed specifically with the European market in mind and like the already successful Qashqai and Juke, the Note is expected to be packed with what Nissan call ‘relevant technology’ in an affordable small car package. The Nissan Note falls into the B-Segment which is already a busy place with some strong competition so it will have to be good in order to succeed.

Some of the new tech expected to appear in the Note will be part of Nissan’s new Safety Shield which is the umbrella name given to some of their safety systems. These include a Blind Spot Warning system, Lane Departure Warning and an advanced Moving Object Detection. These systems work using a built-in rear camera which can display a clear image on the dash mounted screen at all times thanks to a clever system which washes & dries the camera.

Another system that will be offered with the new Nissan Note is the Around View Monitor. This system gives the driver a multi-camera helicopter view of the the car in order to assist with parking – a system like this normally only appears on more premium models in the market.

A number of low CO2 emission engines are expected to be offered with the Nissan Note including one with emissions as low as 95 g/km while start/stop will be standard across the range.

Geraldine Ingham, Chief Marketing Manager for Nissan in Europe explains: “New Note fulfils a really important role in our line-up, combining really smart design with technology that has never been offered in the B-segment before. We’ve used design and engineering innovation to make premium technologies accessible and affordable.”
